Hybrid Seminar on Female Leadership: How Can Female Leadership Contribute to Educational Innovation

An engaging hybrid seminar will be held by the Centre of Strategic Leadership in Educational Innovation (CSLEI), AoFE, which promises not only to illuminate the significant influence of women in driving educational change but also to spark meaningful discussions on how we can further harness women’s power to innovate and inspire. The seminar will center on the theme: “How Can Female Leadership Contribute to Educational Innovation?” Join us as we navigate through the narratives, challenges, and triumphs of female leadership in education and explore the ways in which these pioneering women are crafting the educational landscape of tomorrow.

Keynote Speaker and Panelists

Keynote speaker: Professor Jin Xie

Professor Jin Xie is the Director of Career Development Centre, and the Director at the Center for Youth Moral Education in Tsinghua University (THU). Prior to that, Professor Xie served as the Senior Coordinator in the President Office and as Coordinator and Instructor in the Students Affairs Office, THU. She then devoted 20 years of service at the School of Public Policy and Management, THU, where she acted in a leadership role, as the Deputy Secretary and Deputy Dean.

Panelist: Professor Wen Wang

Throughout her career, Professor Wang has undertaken numerous school leadership roles. She worked in Chinese basic education system and in the American basic education system each for more than ten years, which enabled her to have the western-eastern dialogue and integration in daily work.

Panelist: Rebecca Wakelin

Rebecca Wakelin has extensive experience in education field, having worked as a curriculum consultant and educational developer.  She is interested in researching how teachers in higher education learn how to teach.

Panelist: Dr Qian Wang

Dr Qian Sarah Wang is the Research Director, PhD supervisor, and former Program Director of the MA in Global Education at AoFE. She has over fifteen years of teaching experience. Her research focuses on technology-enhanced teaching innovation, leadership education, and teacher professional development in transnational/international contexts.
