The Seminar on the Development of Health Law and the Revision of Health Law Textbooks was co-organized by the Health Law Research Centre of CUPL and the School of Law of CUPL on Xueyuanlu Campus on 24 Sept, 2021.

Sixteen experts and scholars from the State Administration of Market Supervision, Tsinghua University, Capital University of Medical Sciences, Beijing University of Chinese Medicine, Beijing Yunjia Law Firm, Danaher Group, CUPL and other state ministries and universities gathered at CUPL and discussed the development of the subject of health law. The conference was chaired by Professor Xie Zhiyong, Dean of the College & Director of the Health Law Research Centre.

Professor Jiao Hongchang, Dean of the School of Law, first congratulated the meeting on behalf of the school. Jiao Hongchang stressed the importance of this conference, emphasized the important role of cross-discipline construction in the construction of world-class universities, and proposed to introduce experts in the field of off-campus practice to enrich teaching practice.

Experts including the Director of the Law Enforcement Bureau of the State Administration of Market Supervision Ji Wei, Associate Professor of the School of Public Administration of Tsinghua University Chen Tianhao, associate professors from the School of Medical Humanities of Capital Medical University Li Xiaoyong, Liu Lanqiu and Zhao Xiaopei, professors from the Law Department of Beijing University of Chinese Medicine Deng Yong and Li Runsheng, Director of the Beijing Yunjia Law Firm Sun Zhenhua, and the Head of the Central and North China Government Affairs of Danaher Group Ming Xingxing, professors from CUPL Xie Zhiyong, Wang Qingbin, Xie Libin, Ma Gengxin, associate professors Zhang Li, Liu Xuanlin, Wang Wei presented their ideas one after another. They mainly discussed the construction of the teaching team on the subject, the transformation of academic achievements, the perfection of teaching system, the export of subject development and the cultivation of talents.

In the second stage, Prof. Wang Qingbin, Deputy Director of Research Office of CUPL, presided over the discussion on the revision of the textbook General Theory of Health Law. Prof. Xie Zhiyong, as the editor-in-chief of the book, reviewed the achievements of the discipline of health law in recent years and pointed out that the discipline of health law already has a complete disciplinary form, a complete teaching staff and training program and adequate social needs. He then briefly introduced the current progress of the revision of the textbook that part of the chapters has been reviewed by different members. Professors such as Wang Qingbin, Ma Gengxin and Xie Libin made progress reports and difficulties analysis according to the chapters they are responsible for, and further explored the link between the contents of teaching materials and legislation. Based on the outcome of this meeting, the textbook team unanimously decided to complete the revision in mid-October.
