Nearby Galaxies: A View from Optical to Radio

Abstract:
Galaxies are complex systems comprising stars, gas, dark matter, and etc. The stellar content is best viewed using optical photometry and spectroscopy, while the cold gas is best traced by CO and HI lines at much longer wavelengths. I will first summarize our previous results on the stellar population distribution within galaxies (mostly in 1D radial profiles) made using optical surveys such as Pan-STARRS1 and SDSS-IV MaNGA. I will then introduce our recent results and ongoing projects on HI-related sciences using radio telescopes such as FAST.
