YNAO-SWIFAR Joint Workshop on Stellar Astrophysics and Time-domain Astronomy

A YNAO-SWIFAR joint workshop on stellar astrophysics and time-domain astronomy will take place in Kunming, Yunnan from Aug. 5 to Aug. 16. The first week will be at YNAO, focusing on progenitors and their evolution to various transient, and the second week will be at SWIFAR, Yunnan University (YNU), focusing on cosmic transients and their radiation processes. Below are some details about the workshop:

Total number of participants: maximum 15. About 10 can have 2-people office, others may share a large office.

Format: This workshop will be informal and Aspen-style. Each day about 1-2 hour gathering with 1-2 informal talks. Other time free discussion and work. We encourage any publication done or inspired to acknowledge the workshop and both institutes.

Accommodation: As the distance between YNAO and SWIFAR is a bit long, each institute will suggest an optimal hostel. Invited people have to pay the expenses by themselves.

Meal: Invited people can have meals in the canteens of both institutes, which is not far from the offices. YNAO: <5mins, SWIFAR: about 15mins. Since it is hard to be covered by our local funds, we suggest people pay by themselves, less than 50 yuan per day.
