Luo Hongjie

Luo Hongjie, born in June 1965, is a professor and doctoral supervisor of metallurgical engineering at Northeastern University, a deputy director of Engineering Research Center of Ministry of Education for Advanced Preparation Technology of Materials, and is now the leader of the research team of light metal foam and environmental protection materials. The team has a total of more than 20 teachers and graduate students, including 1 professor, 2 associate professors, 1 lecturer and 1 experimenter. The main research directions are preparation of new materials and environmental protection. In the new material direction, it is engaged in the preparation, performance and application research of light metal foam/porous materials (Al, Mg, Si, Ti) and their composite materials (sandwich panels, special-shaped parts), and the preparation of high-quality ferrochrome, ferronickel, ferrosilicon alloys in a short process. In the direction of environmental protection, it is engaged in high-value utilization of solid waste, development and industrial application of basalt fiber high-temperature filter material and hardened inorganic high-temperature filter material. He has presided over or participated in 4 National High-tech Development Plan projects (863), 5 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 10 provincial and ministerial scientific research projects and more than 10 enterprise technical research projects. Published about 100 academic papers (SCI/EI searched more than 80 articles), participated in compiling 3 academic monographs, and won 27 national invention patents as the first inventor. He won 3 provincial and ministerial awards: The Third Prize of Science and Technology of China Nonferrous Metal Industry, The First Prize of Scientific and Technological Invention of Liaoning Province, and the First Prize of Natural Science Academic Achievement of Liaoning Province.
