On October 14th 2016, Mr. Fu Xinwei (Mr. Julius Ceusar Aragon Flores) – the Consul General of the Consulate General of the Republic of the Philippines in Xiamen – paid a friendly visit to our School – the Research School for Southeast Asian Studies in Xiamen University. During his visit, Mr. Consul General donated one set with ten volumes of CCP Encyclopedia of Philippine Arts and Philippine historical books, ASEAN video cds, Virtual Sentro Rizal and various ASEAN publications and info materials to the library of our school. These elaborately selected cultural materials cover a wide range of issues including Philippine politics, society, history and art as well as ASEAN, which has further enriched the School Library’s professional collection of resources on Philippine and ASEAN studies. This will substantially contribute to help readers to learn more about the culture and arts of the Philippines and ASEAN.
It is a great privilege for our library to have received such wonderful presents from the Consulate General of the Republic of the Philippines in Xiamen. We would like to extend our most sincere gratitude to Mr. Consul General for his support. We also hope to continue to keep a friendly relationship with the Consulate General of the Republic of the Philippines in Xiamen to further academic understanding of the colorful Philippines and ASEAN.
