Director’s welcome message

I am pleased to welcome you to the Research Centre for Internationalisation (RCI) at the Academy of Future Education, Xi’an Jiaotong Liverpool University. As the Director, I am excited to share our goals, research focus, and I extend an invitation to scholars, educators, and students at the doctoral and master’s levels to engage with us.

The RCI aims to promote a global perspective in our academic community by encouraging collaborative research, innovative teaching methods, and cultural exchange. We believe that internationalisation is crucial for preparing students to succeed in a globalized world. The RCI focuses on studying and developing new models for Internationalisation at Home (IaH) within the context of digitalisation and artificial intelligence in China, with the goal of enhancing student learning and development through IaH experiences.

The internationalisation of education is a significant topic that encompasses different themes and research areas related to how educational institutions address global challenges. These include the effects of international collaboration on academic quality, student and faculty mobility, internationalisation of curriculum, equity and access in international education, technology’s role, and the interaction of internationalisation with national policies and global trends. Our research center is aiming to develop creative strategies for internationalizing education and ensuring that it benefits the majority of non-mobile students.

We are enthusiastic about expanding and having a greater impact in the future education. We welcome scholars, educators, and students who are passionate about internationalisation to collaborate with us on research projects, participate in our seminars and workshops, and engage in discussions. Your perspectives and expertise are essential to our mission, and by working together, we can advance the field of international education.
