On September 24th, the 8th International Forum on Boundary and Ocean Studies, focusing on research on a Community with a Shared Future for Mankind in China's Peripheral Regions, was held at Wuhan University. The forum brought together renowned scholars and experts from across the country to discuss how to promote regional peace, stability, and development cooperation in today's complex and volatile international landscape. Chairman Xu Bu was invited to deliver a keynote speech on the strategic rivalry between China and the United States against the backdrop of changes unseen in a century.
Chairman Xu Bu pointed out that by initiating a trade war against China and pursuing policies of "small yards with high walls" and strategic containment, the United States is acting against the trend of the times and is not in the common interest of the Asia-Pacific region and countries around the world. The US should work with China to uphold the basic principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, promote the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, inject strong momentum into the healthy and stable development of bilateral relations, and contribute to world peace and prosperity.
