National Environmental Conference for Doctoral Students is an annual conference co-hosted by Tsinghua University, Chinese Society for Environmental Sciences, and State Key Joint Laboratory of Environment Simulation and Pollution Control. Adhering to the purpose of “academic exchange towards innovation, wide accumulation towards great ideas”, the conference is themed “New Theories and New Technology of Environmental Science and Engineering”. It has actively served as a high-level and pioneering platform for doctoral students from environmental science and related disciplines.

Since 2007, the National Environmental Conference for Doctoral Students has been held annually and witnessed 18 successful conferences so far. With its increasing popularity and influence, the “National Environmental Conference for Doctoral Students” has been widely recognized by teachers and doctoral students from environmental field in China, and has gradually developed into one of the most influential platforms of academic exchange for doctoral students who major in environmental science and related disciplines. During the conference, various kinds of academic events were arranged, including keynote speeches, poster presentation, group sessions, and field trip. The cumulative number of accepted manuscripts has reached 5300 and more than 3800 doctoral students participated in the conferences over the past 18 years. Their fields of research covered over 30 related disciplines such as environmental science, environmental engineering, chemical engineering, and municipal engineering. Excellent papers and posters were reviewed and awarded at each conference. As the discussions were held in a lively and inspiring atmosphere, participants have benefitted from the conferences and widely expressed their praise.
