The course provides graduate students with an in-depth understanding of the theoretical foundations and technical principles involved in air pollution control, proficiency in various simulation methods for processes, and the development of a systematic thinking approach for conducting scientific research on air pollution control. The main contents include thermodynamic/kinetic principles and simulation methods for fuel combustion and pollutant generation; basic principles and simulation methods for particulate matter generation and removal; basic theory, simulation methods and new technology developments for gas purification processes; and effects of air pollution and effect-based pollution control planning methods and decision-making tools.
