To all international students:
The 2nd Forest Arts Modern Dancing Festival is going to be held at 7:30pm, April 27th, 2017, in Yunyuan Stadium in east campus of HUST. The performance consists of 2 parts which are lecture by Dr Willy Tsao and professional dance show Cold Arrow. Art Education Center of HUST provided tickets for international students. The tickets are extremely limited, so first come and first served.

3、Notes
1) Entry with tickets are required! First come, first served! Tickets are extremely limited.
2) One person can only collect two tickets at most (please bring your student ID card or HUST smart card for registration).
3)The professional dancers will provide an improvisational performance inside the stadium at 7:15pm. Audiences are allowed to enter in advance and watch the improvisational performance early.
4)Tickets are not corresponding to the seats inside. Early comers will have the privilege to select seats in the center.
Introductions of performing
The performing contains two parts in total. The first part is a topic lecture named the international view of modern dance, given by Dr.Willy TSAO Sing Yuen, the father of modern dance in China. The second part is modern art performing section, the excellent dancers in BeijingDance/LDTX will bring their classical modern art work Cold Arrow.
1、Dr. Willy TSAO Sing Yuen：
Willy TSAO, respected as "Modern Dance Father of China", has been an influential figure as choreographer, educator, curator, manager and director in China’s modern dance development. Born and educated in Hong Kong, TSAO received his modern dance training in US and his MBA degree from the University of Hong Kong. He was named an Honorary Fellow in 2000 and received an Honorary Doctorate in 2015 from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts.
Mr. TSAO’s contribution to dance and the development of local arts has been widely recognized. He was awarded “Dancer of the Year Award” from the Hong Kong Artists’ Guild in 1988, “Ten Outstanding Young Persons” Award in 1990, "Badge of Honor” from HRH Queen Elizabeth II in 1993, "Louis Cartier Award of Excellence - Outstanding Choreographer” in 1998, “Bronze Bauhinia Star” by the Hong Kong SAR Government in 1999, "Dance Award of the Year - Outstanding Achievement Award" from the Hong Kong Dance Alliance in 2014.
2、BeijingDance/LDTX
BeijingDance/LDTX is China’s first professional modern dance company operating independently from the government. LDTX is acronym for Lei Dong Tian Xia translated as thunder rumbles the universe. The company was co-founded by Willy TSAO and LI Han-zhong in 2005. LDTX’s dancers are from all over China with exquisite technique, excellent creative talents, respect the arts with persistent attitude. Since its establishment, the company has created a repertoire of works performed throughout the world across five continents touching on more that 20 countries and regions. The company is regularly being invited to perform in China and international major presentations. The company also organizes many international cultural exchange platforms such as the Beijing Dance Festival. With its creativity, performances and pervasive promotions, LDTX’s mission is to present a carefree platform for dance artists to present their idealogy and sentiments of Chinese origin, and to drive forward the development of modern dance which embraces multiple standpoints.
Cold Arrow – Game of Go (Weiqi) was premiered in Beijing in 2006,and is a classic and represented work of BeijingDance/LDTX.Choreographers of Cold Arrow are LI Han-zhong, co-founder of BeijingDance/LDTX and an internationally acclaimed choreographer,and MA Bo, Executive Artistic Director of BeijingDance/LDTX.This modern dance work is rich in Chinese cultural imagery which served as a dynamic debut for the newly formed BeijingDance/LDTX then.

华中科技大学“第二届森林艺术节”现代舞专场演出将于2017年4月27日晚上7:30在东校区韵苑体育馆举行。演出内容为曹诚渊讲座和北京雷动天下现代舞团《冷箭》。华中科技大学艺术教育中心为我校留学生提供观看此次演出的门票。门票数额有限，请愿意观看演出的国际学生前来办公室领取。

三、注意事项
1、晚会必须凭票进入。门票有限，先到先得。
2、每人最多领取两张（请带上学生证或校园卡做登记）。
3、19：15分舞者会在场内表演即兴，可以提前入场，观摩舞蹈即兴。19：30讲座和演出正式开始。
4、 入场门票没有指定具体座位，提早进场的同学可以优先选取面向舞台中心的座位。
演出介绍：
本次演出共分为两个部分。第一部分为主题讲座《现代舞的国际视野》，讲座嘉宾为中国现代舞之父曹诚渊老师。第二部分为现代舞专场演出，来自北京雷动天下现代舞团的顶尖舞蹈家们将上演经典剧目《冷箭》。
一、曹诚渊老师介绍：
曹诚渊被誉为「中国现代舞之父」是一位在中国的现代舞领域非常有影响力的人物。他出生并受教育于香港，其后在美国接受现代舞训练。曹氏为香港大学获取工商管理硕士，2000年成为香港演艺学院荣誉院士，2015年获香港演艺学院颁授荣誉博士。
曹氏对舞蹈的贡献备受赞誉，历年获奖无数，包括1988年香港艺术家联盟「舞蹈家年奖」、1990年「香港十大杰出青年」、1999年香港特区政府颁发「铜紫荆星章」、 1993年「英女皇荣誉奖章」、1998年「路易·卡地亚卓越成就奖——舞蹈设计家」及2014年香港舞蹈联盟颁发的「杰出成就奖」。
二、北京雷动天下现代舞团介绍：
北京雷动天下现代舞团于2005年由曹诚渊与李捍忠联合创办，团员来自中国各地，拥有精湛的舞技、优秀的创作才华和对艺术尊重且执着的态度。成立至今，舞团已创作几十部不同规模的优秀作品，巡演足迹遍及五大洲二十多个国家和地区。经常获邀参加国内外的大型演出，并主办多个国际文化交流项目如「北京舞蹈双周」等。以创作、表演、普及和推广的发展思路，体现其「提供自由平台予舞蹈家们，展示当代中国人的思想和感情以及推动多元观点的现代舞蹈发展」的舞团宗旨。
本次表演的节目《冷箭》于2006年在北京正式首演，是舞团的经典与代表之作。本作品编舞为李捍忠，北京雷动天下现代舞团联合创始人、国际编舞家，马波，系舞团执行艺术总监。这部焕发大气磅礴中国文化意象的现代舞作品，将刚刚成立的北京雷动天下现代舞团轰轰烈烈地推向世人。
