Employment Experience Exchange Meeting held

The College of Comparative Law held the Job Application Experience Exchange Meeting online on 5 June, 2022. At the meeting, seven graduates from different careers, including Li Xinning, Li Minqing, Yan Jinlin, Tao Zhen, Zhang Jianing, Xu Jingyuan and Xu Ke, shared their achievements and experiences in job hunting. Year 2020 and 2021 graduating students actively participated in this sharing session.

Li Xinning gave the students a detailed experience sharing of the civil service selective examination. She explained and compared the selective examination with the provincial examination, and then gave a more comprehensive introduction to the former. Then she analyzed the administrative aptitude test and the argumentative essay writing in the examination, made a detailed explanation on the dos and don’ts of the central selection, and finally reminded the students to obtain information and prepare in advance.


Li Minqing shared her experience from her personal examination-taken situation, the timeline of the examination, the duration of exam preparation, the content of the exam, preparation methods and her personal tips. She suggested that everyone arrange review time reasonably and do targeted learning according to one’s personal condition and academic progress. She reminded the students to actively think about their future career plan and take action once decided, and to take their own circumstances, like the origin of the students, into account in the choice of duty station.


Yan Jinlin introduced the overall recruitment time and application contents of the state-owned enterprises, and suggested that students should prepare for the Civil Servant Examination at the same time. She said that it is also important to be calm, to improve the ability to gather and process information, and to overcome anxiety when facing employment. She noted that the processing of employment information needs a lot of time and energy, so students shall actively pay attention to the recruitment information of SOEs in the summer vacation, check their own suitable positions, and prepare actively according to the recruitment requirements.


Tao Zhen interpreted the process of employment from all angles. He mentioned that attention should be paid to the field and city when choosing jobs, and also be paid to recruitment information by following WeChat official accounts and websites so as to do targeted preparation. Also, students should pin their selection of the final offer and choose a job that matches their desired future direction.

Zhang Jianing focused on the bank examination that different schemes should be prepared for policy banks and commercial banks. She mentioned that the autumn recruitment time for banks begins earlier than other industries, so more attention should be paid to each bank’s official website in order not to miss the online application deadline. Zhang also introduced the summer internship in banks and stressed the importance of balancing internship, the Civil Servant Examination and dissertation.


Xu Jingyuan made her sharing from information acquisition, preparation and attitude for an internship. She introduced the main internship information channels, tips on résumé preparation for interviews and the importance of internships on employment opportunities.


At last, Xu Ke talked about the recruitment system and the intensity of the work according to his intern experience in a deliberative dispute resolution department. He stressed that practice is the best way to learn and suggested that students send out CV more often. He also suggested the students carefully consider the choice of the city for future employment in living cost and life quality.


The exchange of employment experience was successfully concluded at this point.
