The Ministry of Education recently released the first list of universities of the Demonstration Base for International Students. Xiamen University (XMU), with its increasing number of international students, distinctive education mechanism, and innovative management system for international students, entered the first group of demonstration bases together with 22 universities under the Ministry of Education directly, including Peking University and Tsinghua University.

In accordance with the Outline of Mid-long Term Educational Reform 2012-2020, the Ministry of Education launched the construction of demonstration base for international students. The election is an encouragement and affirmation to the internationalization work and cultivation of international students of XMU in recent years. At the meantime, it offers opportunities and platforms for XMU to improve its recruitment, cultivation and management of international students.
