Abstract:

Luminous Infrared Galaxies and Low Surface Brightness Galaxies are two extreme cases in Kennicutt-Schmidt Law. They provide ideal labs for knowing star formation conditions. CO can trace molecular gas over a range of densities/temperatures and is related to star formation. Taking advantage of the data from ALMA, We studied the warm gas traced by CO(6-5) in a Luminous Infrared Galaxy NGC5135 and discussed the possible heating mechanisms of the Mid-J CO emission line. We investigated the star formation and molecular gas content in Low Surface Brightness Galaxies by JCMT, APEX, and IRAM observations.

I will review our results about the star formation and molecular gas properties in these two kinds of galaxies.

Bio:

Research Interest:

I am interested in sub-millimeter astrophysics and working on Low Surface Brightness Galaxies.

I explore the molecular gas content, chemical evolution, and stellar population of Low Surface Brightness Galaxies.
