标题: Assessing Environmental Attitudes under China’s Accelerating Ecological Civilization: A Case of the Urban Green Infrastructure Project in Zhangjiagang Bay
摘要:The planning and management of urban green infrastructure (UGI) are at the forefront of global biodiversity conservation. Building an environmental consensus rooted in environmental ethics and values is pivotal to the lasting success of UGI projects. Reflecting the specific classification into ecocentrism–anthropocentrism and Kellert’s typologies and the theoretical connections between environmental ethics and ecological civilization, this study upgrades the adapted ecocentric and anthropocentric attitude toward the environment (AEA) scale accordingly to assess environmental attitudes and applies it in a survey of the main stakeholders involved in Zhangjiagang Bay Eco-Park, an ecological restoration project in China included in the UN’s sustainable development goals (SDGs) Good Practice list. The paper unveils the diverse hidden value patterns of stakeholders and suggests new measures for sustainable UGI management. The authors argue that the AEA scale adapted and tested in this study connects well with the theories of environmental philosophy and is proven with good reliability, strong explanatory power, and potential value for UGI planning and management.

标题: Reducing Carbon Emissions through Green Renewal: Insights from Residential Energy Consumption in Chinese Urban Inventory Districts from an Evidence-based Decision-making Perspective
摘要:The green regeneration of urban inventory is now much more viewed as a strategy to create “green finance”, in contrast to the urban renewal movement that was started in the 1950s and focused on the physical renovation of the built environment. This study draws on evidence-based theory to examine the spatial forms of residential communities in 36 urban districts of China. From a morphological perspective, it summarizes the spatial forms of residential environments at the level of buildings and microdistricts. The results indicate that in urban areas, the aspect ratio and shape coefficient of residential buildings have a significant impact on household energy consumption, and an appropriate increase in building density will help reduce carbon emissions. In conclusion, this study emphasizes the role of carbon reduction as a kind of “green finance” and provides a reference for subsequent urban renewal decisions in combination with China’s actual cases.

标题: Medium-Sized Lake Water Quality Parameters Retrieval Using Multispectral UAV Image and Machine Learning Algorithms: A Case Study of the Yuandang Lake, China
摘要:Water quality monitoring of medium-sized inland water is important for water environment protection given the large number of small-to-medium size water bodies in China. A case study was conducted on Yuandang Lake in the Yangtze Delta region, with a surface area of 13 km2. This study proposed utilising a multispectral uncrewed aerial vehicle (UAV) to collect large-scale data and retrieve multiple water quality parameters using machine learning algorithms. An alternate processing method is proposed to process large and repetitive lake surface images for mapping the water quality data to the image. Machine learning regression methods (Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, Backpropagation Neural Network, and Convolutional Neural Network) were used to construct separate water quality inversion models for ten water parameters. The results showed that several water quality parameters (CODMn, temperature, pH, DO, and NC) can be retrieved with reasonable accuracy (R2 = 0.77, 0.75, 0.73, 0.67, and 0.64, respectively), although others (NH3-N, BGA, TP, Turbidity, and Chl-a) have a determination coefficient (R2) less than 0.6. This work demonstrated the tremendous potential of employing multispectral data in conjunction with machine learning algorithms to retrieve multiple water quality parameters for monitoring medium-sized bodies of water.

摘要: Stormwater management is a key issue in line with global problems of urbanization and climate change. Assessing the effectiveness in managing stormwater is crucial to maintain urban resilience to flooding risk. A method based on a stormwater management model (SWMM) was developed for assessing the control of stormwater runoff volume and the percentage removal of suspended solids by implementing a Sponge City strategy. An interdisciplinary approach was adopted incorporating Low Impact Development (LID) with urban green infrastructure and grey infrastructure paradigms in a typical old residential community in Suzhou, China. Sponge facilities for reducing stormwater runoff included bio-retention cells, permeable pavements, grassed pitches, and stormwater gardens.

摘要: Freshwaters in China are affected by point and non-point sources of pollution. The Wujiang District (Suzhou City, China) has a long history of canals, rivers, and lakes that are currently facing various water quality issues. In this study, the water quality of four rivers and a lake in Wujiang was assessed to quantify pollution and explore its causes. Seventy-five monthly samples were collected from these water bodies (five locations/samples per area) from August to October 2020 and were compared with nine control samples collected from a water protection area. Fifteen physicochemical, microbiological, and molecular–microbiological parameters were analyzed, including nutrients, total and fecal coliforms, and fecal markers. Significant monthly variation was observed for most parameters at all areas.

摘要: During China’s rapid economic development and urbanization, numerous cases of urban malodorous black river (MBR) have occurred. MBR refers to a polluted urban river that smells bad, is almost black in color, has no aquatic plants or animals, and that consequently causes many social and environmental problems. The Chinese government has sought public participation during the whole process of MBR treatment as part of a comprehensive action plan to improve residents’ satisfaction with their environment. To investigate the influencing factors of public participation and satisfaction, a questionnaire survey was conducted among residential communities close to an MBR. SPSS 22.0 was employed to conduct an analysis of the collected data, using factor analysis, correlation analysis, and linear regression analysis.

摘要: “飞地经济”已成为区域协调发展的重要力量,但跨越行政区域,面临着制度环境、发展阶段、条件和经验等各种差异,如何保证合作的意愿和成效挑战巨大。尽管飞地的组织形式多样,其前提是互补合作,而有效和持续的知识转移是关键所在。基于两者的内生理论联系,构建了适用于“飞地经济”的知识转移分析框架,并以具备飞入地与飞出地双重身份的苏州工业园区为例,从转移情境、主体特征、知识属性、交流媒介四个方面解读这两次合作中发生的知识转移,比较和总结影响其转移和迭代的因素。提出明确知识价值和转移成本的重要性,并从提高主体积极性与转移能力、注重知识显性化与多元化的转移方式、树立全周期理念以及完善退出机制等方面,为高效可持续发展飞地经济探路。
