Submission Requirements

Student Section

A. Short Film

• The film should be produced after January 1, 2023.
• Maximum Duration: 30 minutes.
• Submission Format: Should be in MP4 or MOV format.
• There are no restrictions on film genres (experimental, narrative, documentary, animation, MV, variety, sci-fi, VR, etc.).
• English subtitles required for all films except silent ones.
• Films already screened in Chinese theaters or online platforms must disclose this information.

B. Installation Category

• The installation should be produced after January 1, 2023.
• No restrictions on type or style.
• There are no restrictions on the materials used for the art installation. It is encouraged to make art installations that are environmental friendly, convenient for disassembly and transportation, and suitable for long-term exhibition.

C. Game Category

• The game should be produced after January 1, 2023.
• No restrictions on type, style, or platform.
• Must submit a complete executable file.

D. AI-Generated Content (AIGC) Category

• The work should be produced after January 1, 2023.
• Maximum duration: 30 minutes.
• Content must be at least 50% AI-generated, with AI tools used in the creative process. AI used in the creation process, including but not limited to generative AI, and allows editing the video on an AI basis to produce the short video.
• Submission Format: Should be a compressed file (in a zip format) of the creation description document ( in doc., docx., or pdf. format) and the generated video (in MP4 or MOV format).
• Open to all genres, and with English subtitles required for non-silent films.

E. Short Video Category

• The video should be produced after January 1, 2023.
• Maximum duration: 5 minutes.
• Supports both horizontal and vertical formats, free from commercial advertisements; and can be accompanied by background music, voice-over, narration, etc..
• Open to various formats (microfilms, documentaries, public service announcements, mini-dramas, etc.); and entries should spread positive energy and not involve pornography, violence, racial discrimination, etc.
• Standard and appropriate English subtitles required, with multilingual submissions encouraged.

Professional Section

This section is for film and video content.

• The work should be produced after January 1, 2023.
• Maximum duration: 30 minutes.
• Submission Format: Should be in MP4 or MOV format.
• Open to all genres, with English subtitles required.

Submission Guidelines

• All submissions must be original and free from copyright infringements. Plagiarized works will be disqualified.
• Videos must be free from watermarks, borders, stickers, dates, or logos.
• Content must not contain pornography, violence, or discriminatory material. Entries that do not adhere to the above requirements will be considered as an automatic waiver.
• The organizer retains the right to use submitted works for promotional purposes.

Submission Instruction

The competition section of 5^th MEGA International Creative Media Festival is now accepting submissions worldwide. The deadline is April 6, 2025.
