On Saturday afternoon, October 19th, 2024, the third-year Applied Chemistry class from the School of Science (SCI) at XJTLU embarked on a pleasant journey to BaiLuYuan, a picturesque location known for its serene beauty and tranquil atmosphere. The event, which took place from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM, was designed to foster stronger bonds and team building opportunities among students and faculty members, while offering a platform for sharing valuable study experiences.
Dr. Lifeng Ding, Director, Community Engagement and Outreach, SCI stated: “The event at BaiLuYuan was more than just a break from the classroom; it was a day of growth, friendship and unity. By stepping outside the traditional academic setting, students and staff were able to connect on a more personal level, fostering a supportive and collaborative environment that extends beyond the classroom.”
Throughout the day, moments of laughter and camaraderie were captured through many photographs. These images serve as cherished memories and provide a testament to the strong community spirit within the Applied Chemistry program, SCI and XJTLU.
Yifan Li, one of the Development Advisors who organized the event, expressed her satisfaction with the outcome: "It was really heartwarming to see the students interact so positively and share their experiences so openly," she said. "These kinds of activities are crucial for building strong bonds and positive learning community."
Towards the end of the event, the participants left BaiLuYuan with renewed energy and a deeper sense of belonging. The third-year Applied Chemistry students look forward to continuing this tradition and exploring more opportunities for growth and collaboration in the future.
Professor John Moraros, Dean, SCI said: “I am grateful to our Development Advisors for their thoughtful initiative in organizing this event and to our SCI faculty for their kind participation. One of the unique features of an XJTLU education is that we holistically care for our students and provide them the space and supports necessary for them to grow and thrive as global citizens and future leaders.”
