On 9 October 2024, the 2024 IBSS Autumn Campus Job Fair was successfully held at the International Business School Suzhou (IBSS) at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU). This event aimd to provide a platform for students to communicate directly with companies and facilitate the start of their careers.
The event attracted 50 well-known enterprises, including Standard Chartered Bank, GF Securities, Hengtong Group, Tesla, ruhlamat Automation Technologies, and Bicester Village Shopping Collection, offering nearly 800 internship and full-time positions across various industries such as finance, technology, consulting, manufacturing, retail, and education. These positions provided students with a wealth of career opportunities and development paths.

The event was meticulously organized by the Work Placement, Employability and Career Development (WEC) team. At the beginning of the event, Ms Yahong Cai, Work Placement Officer, introduced the event's procedures, and Prof Jorg Bley, Dean of IBSS, delivered a welcome speech, expressing sincere greetings to the participating companies. Subsequently, Dr Nimesh Salike, Associate Dean of Learning and Teaching, introduced the WEC team to the employers.

During the event, students actively engaged with company representatives to learn about job responsibilities, salaries and benefits, corporate culture, and promotion opportunities. The corporate representatives patiently answered students' questions and conducted in-depth discussions with them about future career planning. According to statistics, the job fair attracted over 500 students, and companies received more than 1,700 CVs. The data witnessed students' positive attitudes and excellent qualities towards career development.
The successful holding of this job fair not only provided students with valuable employment and internship opportunities but also served as an important platform for companies to secure talent. Through exchanges with corporate representatives, students gained a deeper understanding of industry trends and career development paths, helping them make wiser career plans. Meanwhile, several companies highly praised the professional competence and comprehensive abilities of IBSS students and expressed their willingness to further cooperate with the school.
In the future, IBSS will continue to strive to build bridges between students and employers by organising similar career development activities, creating more employment opportunities for students, cultivating more outstanding talents, and contributing to socio-economic development.
