School of Science Receives 7 NSFC Research Funding Awards for 2024

It is with immense pride that our School of Science (SCI) wishes to congratulate seven (7) of our close friends and colleagues (Table below), who have been awarded prestigious National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) research grants. Individual stories on each award winner will follow soon.

This remarkable achievement accounts for 25% of the total NSFC awards made to XJTLU (7/28) and represents an impressive 34% of the total funding received (3.93M/11.6M). SCI wishes to give a particular note of acknowledgement to Professor Li Yang, the Associate Dean of Research and Impact for her leadership in helping establish new heights/standards for our research achievements, Professor Eben Goodale, Acting HoD, HES for his leadership and major award, our colleagues from HES for winning 6 out of the 7 awards and our colleague in BIO.

Zheng Chen:Study on the micro-interface linkage process of methane emission from rice fields and model verification

Bailiang Li:Study on the influence of atmospheric thermodynamic stratification on the formation and spatiotemporal evolution of wind-sand flow

Weiwei Dai:The mechanism of ammonia accumulation promotes liver cancer progression via calcium channel-mTORC2-SREBP1-lipogenesis dependent manner

Wanxin Li:Study on the mechanism of action of active nitrogen species on the degradation of new pollutants and the formation of disinfection by-products in breakpoint chlorination

Juan Li:Study on the optimization of conservation agent species based on big data and multi-criteria decision-making framework: A case study of Sanjiangyuan National Park

Yuehan Dou:Study on social benefit evaluation and optimization strategy of ecological restoration from the perspective of ecosystem cultural services

Securing NSFC grants irrespective of the category is a highly competitive and rigorous process. These awards highlight the high caliber of the research conducted within our SCI faculty and the profound impact our research work has on advancing scientific knowledge, contributing to societal progress and making XJTLU a global leader. The success of the SCI award winners reflects our collective commitment to excellence and our relentless pursuit of groundbreaking discoveries in our respective fields of discipline at XJTLU.SCI would like to extend its deepest gratitude to Professor Zhoulin Ruan, Vice President Academic Affairs, XJTLU and Professor Fei Ma, Associate Vice President Research and Impact, XJTLU for their continuous and kindest support.
