Mr. Zhang Jiannong, a renowned alumnus of the School of Foreign Languages from the 1987 graduating class, accompanied the delegation throughout the visit.
At Huawei's Translation Center, Jiang Yanfei, General Manager of the center, extended a warm welcome to Chen Hong and her delegation. She introduced the center's human and machine translation tasks, translation quality standard control, and Huawei's leading position in the machine translation industry. She emphasized that machine translation is currently one of the fastest and most successful applications of AI. The translation industry should recognize, adapt to, and initiate changes, believing that only through human-machine integration can human-machine coexistence be achieved. The translation industry has the opportunity to set an example for AI applications. Both sides conducted in-depth exchanges on the cultivation of foreign language talents, especially translation talents. Li Chongyue, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages, and Jiang Yanfei, General Manager of Huawei's Translation Center, signed a memorandum of cooperation on behalf of both parties.
At CloudTrans Tech Co., Ltd. in Shenzhen, Ding Li, President of the company, warmly received Chen Hong and her delegation. As a provider of AI-based multilingual solutions, CloudTrans Tech has significant advantages in speech recognition and synthesis, machine translation, public opinion monitoring, knowledge graphs, sentiment analysis, event extraction, and large language models. Both sides conducted extensive exchanges on cooperation in terminology database construction for agricultural equipment manufacturing and technology, as well as the application of intelligent information systems in country and regional studies. They also signed a memorandum of cooperation between the School of Foreign Languages and CloudTrans Tech.
At the headquarters of CIMC Group, Zhu Weidong, an alumnus of the School of Foreign Languages from the 1989 graduating class and General Manager of Guangdong CIMC Building Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and He Jin, General Manager of CIMC's Human Resources Department, warmly received Chen Hong and her delegation. Chen Hong introduced the development of Jiangsu University and expressed her hope that CIMC Group would conduct in-depth university-enterprise cooperation with Jiangsu University to provide more employment opportunities for outstanding graduates of Jiangsu University.
