BASF SAP Trainee Program

SEM hosts this training program sponsored by BSAF and SAP every year since 2016, the whole program is customized to the German bachelor students specialized in Information Management from Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society, University of Applied Sciences.

These students are selected from very beginning and entirely have 4 semesters and 4 internships (rolling basis). Every year, a cohort come to Tongji for 2.5-month study in their third year of bachelor program, and followed by working as management trainee in SAP or BASF for another two months.

The main courses offered by SEM are composed of three modules: E-business, Business Intelligence and Knowledge Management, Chinese Culture and Economy. And Company Visit& Cultural Events are also integrated throughout the period.

Ludwigshafen University of Business and Society provides a broad range of Bachelor’s degree programs in the fields of business management, social work and healthcare. Students may also choose to continue their education with a Master’s degree program, either directly after completing their Bachelor’s degree or later in tandem with their work. Currently, students can choose from over 40 degree programs covering a range of study options including full-time, part-time (work-study and dual programs) as well as distance learning. About the Program

“International Business Administration and Information Technology” Training Program

  • Courses and Lectures

All courses and lectures focus on topics related to Chinese management, economy, and culture. The program offers a diverse range of educational opportunities, including in-depth courses and expert-led lectures, to help international students gain a comprehensive understanding of China’s economic growth, management practices, and cultural evolution. Through these learning experiences, program participants can explore China’s unique development strategies, gain insights into its global economic role, and deepen their knowledge of the cultural factors influencing business and management in China.

  • Company Visits

The visits could be organized to state-owned enterprises, private companies, joint ventures, and foreign firms. These on-site corporate visits are designed to provide program students with a firsthand experience of Chinese enterprises, offering insights into their operations, management styles, innovation strategies, and the overall dynamics of the Chinese market.

  • Cultural Events

Various cultural and interaction events could be hosted by the institutes and students, offering program participants a unique opportunity to deeply experience and understand Chinese culture. These events may include traditional workshops, cultural festivals, language exchange programs, and interactive activities designed to foster cross-cultural communication and appreciation.

  • Networking

This program provides support from local students, allowing program participants to engage in campus life just like local students. They can join student clubs, access the gym, and participate in various activities to foster networking among program participants.
