Tongji SEM Held “Employability Skills Workshop” Lecture for Students

On July 26th, Mr. WANG Jie, an alumnus of Tongji University and Head of Recruitment, Henkel Group Greater China, was invited to give a lecture for SEM students as part of the series lecture of “Employability Skills Workshop”. Many junior and senior undergraduates joined the online lecture and had an active interaction with the guest.
The first part of the lecture was on “Career Choice”. Mr. WANG suggested that graduates who would like to apply for a job should understand the core work content of the industry, including the establishment of positions, the differences between different industries, enterprises, entry positions and their career path. Then he elaborated on “Job Interview”. WANG Jie summarized the interviewer’s consideration of personnel selection for the students from the three dimensions of knowledge, motivation and behavior, and analyzed the specific meaning of each dimension and the way of investigation for the students in detail. The third part of the lecture is “Q & A”. Mr. WANG answered questions about job interview and career development and gave students relevant advices and guidance.
In line with the purpose of improving students’ occupational skills, the Career Development Center of Tongji SEM has launched a series of workshop on Employability Skills, inviting senior HR or management experts to share skills and experiences, and to improve students’ professional accomplishment and comprehensive ability.
