News:Keynotes presentations in the last day

On the last day of the 9th Hutton Symposium, six keynote presentations were given on theme 4 (“Magmatic processes of large granitoid plutons and felsic volcanic complexes”) . This theme was chaired by Calvin F. Miller, Xiao-Lei Wang, Annen Catherine, John Clemens, Di-Cheng Zhu, and Olivier Bachmann.

Prof. Olivier Bachmann from ETH Zürich gave the first keynote presentation entitled “Timescales and processes within transcrustal magmatic systems”.

Prof. Julian Pearce from Cardiff University gave the second keynote presentation entitled “Granite Fingerprinting Revisited”.

Prof. Guil Gualda from Vanderbilt University gave a keynote presentation on “Solidification of granites from the perspective of alkali feldspar megacrysts”.

Prof. Roberto Weinberg from Monash University gave a keynote presentation entitled “Geochronological record of sustained and cyclic magma generation in HT-LP anatectic terranes ”.

Dr. Elena Melekhova from School of Earth Sciences, University of Bristol gave a keynote presentation entitled “Formation of continental crust at arc settings ”.

Prof. Tao Wang from from Institute of Geology of CAGS gave a keynote presentation entitled “Construction and eruption of plutons: the heat problem Granitoids in Asian and their tectonic significance: an introduction to a digit map”.
