On the fourth day of the 9th Hutton Symposium, three keynote presentations on theme 3 (“Mineralization associated with granitic magmatism“) were given in the morning. Profs. Mei-Fu Zhou, Bernd Lehmann and Pei Ni chaired this theme. Theme 4 (“Magmatic processes of large granitoid plutons and felsic volcanic complexes”) started from the afternoon and three professors gave interesting talks chaired by Drs. Roberto Weinberg and Olivier Bachmann.
Prof. Bernd Lehmann from Technical University of Clausthal gave the first keynote presentation entitled “Formation of tin ore deposits: A reassessment”.
Prof. Zhi-Ming Yang from Institute of Geology of CAGS gave the second keynote presentation entitled “Origin of the postcollisional porphyry Cu deposits in southern Tibet: new evidences from the causative granite-hosted MME and lower crustal rocks”.
Prof. Reimar Seltmann from Natural History Museum gave a keynote presentation on “Line rocks in rare metal granites as expression of fluid saturation and rhythmic crystallization”.
Prof. Calvin F. Miller from Vanderbilt University gave a keynote presentation entitled “Volcano-pluton connection: Perspectives on material and process linkages from Searchlight pluton and the Highland Range volcanic sequence, Nevada, USA”.
Prof. Xi-Sheng Xu from Nanjing University gave a keynote speech entitled “Cretaceous volcanic-plutonic magmatism and geodynamic constraints, SE China”.
Dr. Annen Catherine from Université Savoie Mont-Blanc, gave a keynote speech entitled “Construction and eruption of plutons: the heat problem”.
Each presentation is very interesting and aroused a lot of discussions.
