On March 26, the opening ceremony of the 14th Batch of “National Training Program for College Students’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship” Project Achievements Exhibition of NEU was held in the entrance hall of the He Shili Teaching Building. Vice-president of NEU Wang Jianhua, relevant principals and evaluation experts of the “National Training Program for College Students’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship”, and all members of the 14th Batch of “National Training Program for College Students’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship” project team of NEU attended the opening ceremony and appreciated the exhibition.
A total of 193 projects were presented in this exhibition, which involved such fields as creative design, new energy, new materials, software development, green metallurgy, biomedical science, electronic information, and robotics. The number of the projects exhibited this year is the largest in the history, and the project implementation results achieved are remarkable. Through participating in the projects, NEU students have applied for 62 patents, and written 201 academic papers, with 175 formally accepted or published and 73 indexed by high-level journals. Their project achievements have won 61 awards in various science and technology competitions at all levels, and 12 projects have delivered cooperation intention of achievement transformation to related enterprises and scientific research institutes.
In the exhibition, selection of “My Favorite Innovation Project for College Students” and "Best Creative Project" was conducted. Five of the former and five of the latter were selected through expert review, mutual evaluation of projects, and voting by teachers and students. During the exhibition, 193 projects participated in the final acceptance through written review and on-site defense review. According to relevant regulations of NEU, the core members of the innovation training program who meet the basic requirements and the entrance exam-free recommendation requirements for innovation specialties can apply by individuals, and after passing the comprehensive evaluation of the School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of NEU, they will be recommended to study for the postgraduate qualification without entrance exam.
