Recently, the final of the Sixth Chinese College Students’ Originality Competition in Cranes sponsored by the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society was held in Wuhan University of Technology. Under the guidance of Zhou Nan and Chen Zeyu from the School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation of NEU, the work Efficient Rotary Intelligent Handling Crane by Liu Junbin, Han Changhao, Cui Xiulong, Guo Xiaobing and Zhuang Zixuan won the national third prize in the competition.
Themed Intelligent Stacking Crane Robots, the competition was held online, involving the knowledge of machinery, control, materials and many other disciplines. The competition attracted a total of 166 teams from 46 colleges and universities across China, and 20 first prizes, 18 second prizes and 28 third prizes were presented after webcast presentation and expert review. The participating teachers and students from NEU made use of their spare time to carry out structural modification, machining, program engineering construction, and control debugging and optimization, organically integrated practice, study and teaching with the competition, and finally achieved great results.
