Recently, the results of the Eighth Annual Conference of Liaoning on College Students’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship were announced. After going through such links as online defense, achievement presentation and expert evaluation, 23 shortlisted projects of NEU won 5 grand prizes, 5 first prizes and 12 second prizes of the “Award for Outstanding College Students’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Projects”. Among these projects, 4 were rated as “My Favorite Project”, 4 “Best Creative Project”, and 1 “Outstanding Entrepreneurship Project”, with 4 papers winning the “Award for Outstanding Academic Papers”. This is the best result of NEU in its history. 11 NEU teachers won the honor of “Outstanding Tutors”, including Ding Hua, Pei Wenli and Zhu Qi from the School of Material Science and Engineering, Ma Jiaocheng from the School of Mechanical Engineering and Automation, Gong Jun and Li Jingjiao from the College of Information Science and Engineering, Wang Mingquan from the College of Computer Science and Engineering, Cui Xiaoyu from the College of Medicine and Biological Information Engineering, and Wang Fei, Fang Zheng and Wen Shiguang from the Faculty of Robot Science and Engineering.
The Eighth Annual Conference of Liaoning on College Students’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship was organized by the Education Department of Liaoning Province and presented by Eastern Liaoning University. After going through the links of recommendation by colleges, project qualification examination, preliminary evaluation by the panel, review by the experts from the provincial innovation steering committee and joint review, 461 achievements from 51 colleges and universities in Liaoning Province were selected for the final. These achievements were presented in the form of group forum. Among them, there were 207 academic papers, 203 presented projects and 51 promoted entrepreneurship projects. NEU had 23 works in the finalist, including 10 academic papers, 10 presented projects and 3 promoted entrepreneurship projects. In the links of project introduction, interaction, and experts’ questioning, NEU’s projects in the finalist were recognized by the panel with NEU students’ excellent performance. Project “Smart Eye” guided by teacher Wang Fei from the Faculty of Robot Science and Engineering and jointly completed by Shao Mingkang, Gui Yuan, He Yifei, Zhao Ziying and Zhang Huanhao participated in the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Achievements Exchange Forum as a special award winner. The project results were presented in the form of a keynote speech, which fully demonstrated NEU’s achievements in implementing scientific research training with the “National College Students Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program” as the main body.
