On August 30, the China National Intellectual Property Administration and the Ministry of Education jointly released the list of the third batch of national intellectual property information service centers at universities. A total of 20 universities are in the list, among which NEU is the first university selected in Liaoning and Shenyang.
The National Intellectual Property Information Service Center of NEU (the “center” for short), established on September 3, 2018, is affiliated to the library of NEU. Since its establishment, the center has been facing the society and actively carrying out intellectual property information services based on NEU’s goal of “constructing a world-class university and first-class disciplines”. Relying on the library, the center has done a solid job in intellectual property information literacy training, intellectual property information consultation, patent retrieval, patent novelty search, and patent competitiveness analysis. The center conducts patent analysis and patent navigation analysis for scholars and major research project teams, provides information support for the declaration, approval and appraisal of NEU’s scientific and technological achievements and cultivation of high-value patents. It supports NEU’s discipline construction, scientific research innovation and transfer and transformation of intellectual property. In the future, guided by the national innovation-driven development strategy, the center will closely focus on NEU’s goal of “constructing a world-class university and first-class disciplines”, and provide great intellectual property information service support for NEU’s collaborative innovation and local industrial development.
