On December 12, the final of the 3rd Natural Resources Science & Technology Works Competition for College Students was held online. Under the instruction of teacher Liu Shuhan from NEU’s School of Humanities and Law, the work Study on the Fragmentation Mechanism and Optimal Layout of Ecological Land in Suburbs of Big Cities from the Perspective of Evolutionary Game - A Case Study of Shenyang completed by Yu Hang, Wang Xuning, Guo Zirao, Zhao Yufei and Li Tingting, who are the undergraduates of 2020 majoring in Land Resource Management, won the second prize in the final. Under the instruction of teacher Gao Jia from NEU’s School of Humanities and Law, the work How Can Conservation and Utilization of Black Soil Facilitate the Realization of Peak Carbon Dioxide Emission and Carbon Neutrality - Investigation and Reflection from the Perspective of Grain Growers in Black Soil Areas completed by Zhao Yijia, Cao Yuifeng, Wang Jingwen and Lou Pengxin, who are the undergraduates of 2020 majoring in Land Resource Management, won the “Excellent Work Award”.
The works for the final focus on urban ecological protection problems, with ecological land fragmentation in the suburbs of big cities as a breakthrough point. These works establish the fragmentation mechanism analysis framework based on the evolutionary game theory, analyze the evolution process and fragmentation index of ecological land in the suburbs of Shenyang in recent 30 years by using remote sensing image data, put forward the optimization strategy for Shenyang’s development, and provide an effective reference for suburban ecological land protection and urban green low-carbon development.
