Recently, Clarivate Analytics released the List of Highly Cited Researchers 2021. Professors Yang Guanghong and Zhang Huaguang from NEU’s College of Information Science and Engineering are included in the list for their contributions to the field of engineering.
In recent years, the College of Information Science and Engineering has constantly optimized the discipline layout by reforming grassroots academic organizations, and stimulated the vitality of teachers in teaching and scientific research by condensing academic orientations and encouraging original research and free exploration. The success of these two professors highlights the college’s strength in the discipline of control science and engineering and that the college has made further improvement in the capacity for original basic research.
The List of Highly Cited Researchers is drawn up based on the situation of highly cited papers published in the past 10 years from 21 discipline areas and interdisciplinary areas globally. The selection is on the basis of the number of published academic papers and the research performance indicators and trend data from the citation data of Web of Science. Web of Science is the world's largest and most trusted citation index database and research information platform independent of publishers. Both the quantity and quality of the papers by the researchers in the list are required to rank in the top 1% by citations in their respective fields of study, and the researchers are required to have a significant academic influence and status among their peers around the world.
