“Environmental Processes and Ecological Impacts on Soils”
Ø Ecological Effects of Ground-Level Ozone Pollution
Revealed the distribution and fate of PAHs in soil-plant system under elevated O3 stress;
Advanced the phytotoxic ozone dose model for regional ecological risks assessment;
Elucidated the response mechanisms on the emissions of soil greenhouse gases (N2O, CO2, CH4) and reactive nitrogen gases (HONO, NO, NO2) to elevated O3 concentration;
Meta-analyzed the global responses of soil C and N dynamics to elevated O3 concentration.
Ø Transport of Colloids and Contaminant in Saturated Porous Media
Studied the transport of nanoplastics in sand columns, particularly focused on the effects of solution chemistry and flow conditions;
Investigated the co-transport behaviors of nanoplastics and polar/non-polar organic pollutants;
Evaluated the barrier effect of low-mobility microplastics on the transport of PPCPs;
Revealed the effect of metallic minerals on the transport of residual flotation reagents;
Elucidated the effects of humic acid, ionic strength and ion type on the transport of colloidal CuBX complex;
Ø Pollution Causes and Remediation Technologies for Contaminated Site
Characterized the contamination sites in Northeast China from the views of contaminant types, industry categories, planned uses, etc.;
Developed technical solutions and patterns for integrated preventing and controlling of heavy-metal contaminated sites in Northeast China;
Optimized the technique conditions of soil solidification/stabilization using meta-analysis;
Established a program on assessment of soil contaminants transport pathway and domain;
Developed a series of AOP methods catalyzed or activated with metallurgical slags.
