The School of Software at Nanchang University (SSNCU), located at the Qingshanhu campus, was established in June 2002. In 2018, the School of Cyberspace Security was inaugurated under the affiliation of SSNCU, opening a new chapter in the reform and development of the School. SSNCU is the member of the Pilot Software Engineering Schools Association in China and is among the first batch of demonstrative software schools in Jiangxi Province.

SSNCU offers master’s programmes and undergraduate education in Software Engineering and Cyberspace Security. Software Engineering is the national first-class undergraduate program and national characteristic specialty; Cyberspace Security is the provincial first-class undergraduate program.

SSNCU owns a highly qualified and experienced teaching and research faculty, comprised of 44 full-time teachers and over 50 experts from both inside and outside the school. Approximately 70% of the teachers hold the rank of associate professor or professor, and about 47.62% have a doctorate degree. There are currently over 2000 undergraduates and near 200 graduates in the school.
