International Education College of Nanchang University (Cross-Border Education Center)

International Education College(Cross-border Education Center) is an academic institution responsible for the enrollment, education and management of international Students in China. It undertakes the exchange of students from abroad, and the teaching of Chinese language and Chinese culture to international students in China, promotes international Chinese education, and manages overseas Confucius Institutes, handling various foreign-related affairs.

The College (Center) is located in the Qianhu Campus of Nanchang University. It is the Demonstration Base for International Students in China under the Ministry of Education, the Abroad Training Base of Chinese Service Center for Scholarly Exchange under the Ministry of Education., the National Advanced Test Center for the HSK Online Examination, the Executive Member Unit of the China Education Association for International Exchange, and Member Units of the Alliance of China-Thailand Universities".

Under the guidance of the Ministry of Education's policy for international students’ education in China, which emphasizes "Expanding scale, optimizing structure, standardizing management, and ensuring quality", the University is committed to the fundamental mission of cultivating international envoys of "Knowing China, being friends with China and Loving China" and relying on its superior educational resources to build a distinctive education brand of "Studying at NCU" in China. It provides degree programs, non-degree programs and long-term and short-term Chinese language training for international students at various levels, and has cultivated nearly 6,000 international students from more than 120 countries.

The university has established four Confucius Institutes and two Confucius classrooms in France, Spain and Indonesia. Adhering to the Philosophy of "starting with language, integrating culture, and promoting mutual understanding among peoples", the overseas Confucius Institutes of the University have conducted high-quality Chinese language teaching and cultural exchange activities, achieving fruitful edcuational outcomes, cultivated a large number of professional talents specialized in Chinese, and become an important platform and bond for promoting international Chinese language education, disseminating the excellent Chinese culture, and deepening the friendship between peoples of different countries. These institutes have played a positive role in promoting the exchanges and cooperation in education, culture, science and technology between Jiangxi Province and the regions where Confucius Institutes are located, as well as between China and the countries where Confucius Institutes operate.

Based in Jiangxi and with a global perspective, it proactively serves the national diplomatic strategy, and actively promotes the enhancement of Nanchang University’s international education level and the construction of a world-class university.
