‘CPC Centenary, NCEPU in Red’ — Party History Themed Red Orienteering Competition Organized by General Party Branch of the Department of Foreign Studies
In order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China and to combine the education of the Party history with the enjoyable games and activities for teachers and students, on May 9th, the General Party Branch of the Department of Foreign Studies organized a Party history themed Red orienteering competition — ‘CPC Centenary, NCEPU in Red’, which was open to all the teachers and students in NCEPU.
As a highly flexible sport that could integrate Party history education, patriotic education and fitness education, the competition consisted of eight levels and two hidden levels, including ‘Party History Quiz’, ‘Guess the Red Song’, ‘Party Achievements Link-up’, ‘Red Detectives’, ‘Climb over Mountains and Waters in Solidarity’, ‘Red Words and Deeds’, ‘Acupressure Board Challenge’, ‘Puzzle Together’, etc, covering basic knowledge about CPC, red songs, as well as important meetings and events in Party history. Also, as a form of ‘edutainment’, the competition offered activities such as quiz, puzzle, fault-finding, word guessing, and linking-up games, which allowed participants to learn the Party history while having fun in these Red games.
A total of 178 participants, including leaders of the Department of Foreign Studies, members of the General Party Branch, Party Branch Secretary, as well as teachers, students and party members of NCEPU, formed different teams to compete in the games. After the competition, Wu Yanjun, Secretary of the General Party Branch, said, ‘This activity was an innovative exploration of the Department of Foreign Studies to learn the Party history. Its organic integration of education, fun and sports offered the participants opportunities to feel the glorious history of CPC in a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere, which has been proved to be very effective.’ Other participating teachers and students also said, ‘This event was both educative and interesting. It was enjoyable and creative to learn the Party history through games.'
This competition, by enriching the forms of Party history learning and education in English Department, has been well received by the participants, achieving the expected effect of encouraging the students and teachers to learn the Party history and Party knowledge and follow the Party's lead.
