The Construction Big Data Platform and Smart Services Lab, led by Professor Hongwei WANG from the School of Management at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, strategically aligns with the imperatives of digital China and the advancement of the digital economy.
The lab’s objectives encompass:
(1) Addressing pivotal challenges in the transition towards industrial digitalization and digital industrialization.
(2) Establishing foundational standards for comprehensive lifecycle data management in the construction domain.
(3) Creating a technical support ecosystem capable of aggregating data resources, conducting reliability analyses, andprovidingservices.
(4) Pioneering the seamless integration of China's construction industry with the digital economy.
(5) Advancing digital transformation and fostering high-quality development within construction enterprises.
(6) Cultivating innovative approaches within the operational framework of construction big data.
The lab primarily addresses critical technical challenges, including construction big data, data mining, andsmartanalysis algorithms. The research initiatives encompass the following areas:
(1) Offering services for construction, delivery, operation, and maintenance grounded in thebigdata concept.
(2) Developing a comprehensive optimization model to enhance smart cities across various scenarios.
(3) Exploring transformational approaches and service models for a platform-driven construction industry.
The lab aspires to deliver an array of technical products. These include platforms such as On-site Data Standards and Smart Management Platform, Campus Energy Simulation and Optimization Platform, Urban Resilience Analysis and Evaluation Platform, Urban Renewal and Historical Building Management Platform, Smart Urban Water Operation and Management Platform, and Integrated Medical and Nursing Service Platform, among others.
