Dear Undergraduate Graduates of 2018:
The 2018 undergraduate graduation process have been initiated officially. The University Head Office of Academic Affairs, Academic Affairs Office of each department, and School of International Education have started the graduation evaluation work jointly. Followings are the detailed guidance of the graduation process of the International Undergraduate graduates.
1/Personal information check
All international graduates are required to come to the International Student Office to check personal information (including student ID number, name, gender, department, major, school length, date of entry, passport number, student category, etc.) before May 10, 2018.If any information is incorrect, please contact International Student Office teachers to make corrections in time.
2/Application of Schooling Period Extension
Graduates of 2018 who have completed all academic courses and received all credits are qualified to graduate. Graduates who have not completed all academic courses but have received more than 2/3 of total credits, are eligible for applying 1-year schooling extension. The application process is as follows:
(1) The applicant shall log into the official website of "smart HUST" (智慧华中大)（/hust/smu_pass/）and enter the "Administrative hall"(办事大厅) and complete the extension application before May 10, 2018. If there is any uncertainty regarding online application, please come to the International Student Office for detailed consultation.
(2) The applicant is requested to complete full amount of tuition fee for the 2018/2019 academic year before June 30, 2018. International Student Office will help students with residence permit extension accordingly.
(Note: Graduates who have earned fewer than 2/3 of total credits are not qualified to extend schooling period according to university regulations, and they will be given a study proof before leaving university).
3/Returning Students with Certificates of Study Completion
Graduates who have earned more than 3/4 of total credits, or those who have received all credits but failed the defense of graduation thesis, will be permitted to complete study and receive a Certificate of Study Completion from the university. Students with Certificates of Study Completion shall come back as Returning Students to complete all remaining courses within the next 2 years. After completing all courses, they can apply for Graduation Certificates. The details are noted as follows:
(1) Returning students shall sign up a written promise in International Student Office before June 15, 2018 and to submit a personal written application to guarantee that they will come back to campus to make up all remaining courses from September, 2018 and obey Chinese law as well as university regulations during study period.
(2) Students are requested to buy insurance before June 15, 2018 (300RMB per semester). Please visit the website for more detailed information: http://www.lhgj.net/insurance/wszf/wszf_login.jsp
(3) nternational Student Office will help returning students who meet the above requirements to extend resident permit valid until January 31th, 2019.
4/Other Important Matters
(1) According to Article 72 from the <Regulations of Academic Affairs for All Undergraduates of HUST> University Head Office [2017] no. 17, due to academic issues, student who receives only a Graduation Certificate, is allowed to apply for a Degree Certificate after he/she makes up for all academic requirements during the same graduation year.
Therefore, graduate who does not receive Degree Certificate, can only receive it when he/she completes the requirements before the end of same graduation year (thus, before the end of the fall semester of 2018). However, if the student cannot complete all requirements before the end of same graduation year, he/she will never receive a Degree Certificate.
(2) Students who fail to complete all required credits in regulated schooling period and still maintain study qualification in HUST, are eligible to apply for schooling extension for a maximum of 2 years.
(3) All graduates of 2018 are suggested to log into HUB system immediately and check your marks in details. If you are not being able to graduate in June 2018, please apply for schooling extension in time. Any late application for extension will not be accepted by the university.

关于2018届国际学生毕业生（本科生）毕业工作相关事宜的通知
致全体2018届国际学生本科毕业生：
2018年全校国际学生本科毕业生工作已正式启动。学校教务处、各院系本科教学负责人以及国际教育学院已正式启动本科毕业生工作。为做好国际学生本科毕业生的毕业管理工作，现将国际学生本科毕业生毕业工作相关事宜通知如下：
一、个人信息核对工作
所有国际学生本科毕业生需要于2018年5月10日之前在来华留学办公室认真核对本人信息（包括学号、姓名、性别、院系、专业、学制、入学日期、护照号、学生类别等），如信息不符，请及时与主管老师联系并更正。
二、申请办理学习期限延长事宜
经学校资格审核，2018届本科毕业生，已修完各专业培养计划规定课程并获得全部学分的学生准予毕业。未修满所有学分，但超过培养计划总学分2/3的学生，可申请办理延长学习期限一年。申请学习期限延长流程如下：
1.申请者需于2018年5月10日之前登陆“智慧华中大”官网（/hust/smu_pass/），进入“办事大厅”，在网上完成办理学习期限延长的申请。如网上申请有任何疑问，请到来华留学办公室进行详细咨询。
2.申请延长学习期限的学生必须于2018年6月30日之前足额
缴纳下一学年的学费，来华留学办公室将为其办理下一学年居留许可延长手续。
（备注：低于培养计划总学分2/3的学生，原则上不予延长学习期
限，应办理退学手续离校。）
三、结业学生事宜
未获得培养计划的全部学分，但修满培养计划总学分3/4以上的学生，或已获培养计划的全部学分但未通过毕业设计(论文)答辩的学生，准予结业，学校发给结业证书。结业生必须在结业后两年内回校修读相关课程，获得相应学分并达到毕业条件者，可申请换发毕业证。结业生注意事项如下：
1. 须于2018年6月15日之前到来华留学办公室承诺签署结
业告知书，并提交个人申请，承诺自2018年9月起返校重修课程，重修期间遵纪守法。
2. 必须按照学校规定于2018年6月15日之前自行购买保险，
购买网址为http://www.lhgj.net/insurance/wszf/wszf_login.jsp，金额为每半年300元。
3. 来华留学办公室统一为结业生办理居留许可延长至2019年
1月31日。
四、其他注意事项
1. 《华中科技大学普通本科生学籍管理细则》校教〔2017〕17 号
第七十二条规定，由于学业原因，获得毕业证书但未获得学士学位者，在毕业当年达到学士学位授予条件可向学校申请学士学位。
因此未获得学士学位的国际学生本科毕业生，最迟必须在当年
秋季学期内(2018年秋季学期结束之前)达到学士学位条件后，方能补授学士学位。若无法于毕业当年秋季学期内((2018年秋季学期结束之前)修满所有学分，将永远无法获得学士学位证书。
2. 在规定的学制年限内未修满培养计划规定的各类学分和总学
分者，在尚未作退学处理的条件下，可向学校申请延长在校学习期限，延长在校学习期限累计最长不得超过2年。
3. 请所有国际学生本科毕业生在HUB系统中仔细认真核对自己
的成绩单并及时申请办理延长学习期限的审批手续。学校将不受理逾期提交的审批表。
