On October 19th, the Artificial Intelligence Session of 2024 International Conference on the Cooperation and Integration of Industry, Education, Research and Application was held at the Jiuzhang Academy of Zhengzhou Campus. Themed “Heading Towards a Smart Future through Collaborative Innovation”, the conference attracted over 200 experts, scholars, and corporate representatives from China, Japan, the UK, New Zealand, Malaysia, and other countries and regions to discuss the latest research findings and future trends in artificial intelligence.
Professor Miao Yuchen, Vice President of HENU, delivered the opening speech. He stated that the conference reflects Henan University’s high regard for new engineering disciplines and emerging interdisciplinary fields, as well as its commitment to enhancing the integration of industry, education, research, and application within the province. Professor Miao expressed his hope that participants would engage deeply in exchanges and collaborations to jointly promote the coordinated development of artificial intelligence in these sectors.
At the opening ceremony, Miao Yuchen and Ren Jingyang, Senior Vice President of Dawning Information Industry Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Sugon”), represented HENU and Sugon respectively, to unveil the HENU - Sugon Collaborative Innovation Base for Industry-Education-Research and the Henan University - Sugon Information Technology Innovation Industrial Education Practice Base. Ren Jingyang remarked that the bases symbolize the collaborative innovation between HENU and Sugon in integrating industry, education, research and application, with the goal of jointly nurturing interdisciplinary talents in artificial intelligence. Both parties will conduct in-depth cooperation in optimizing intelligent computing architecture.
The keynote reports featured six senior experts in the field, including Hou Zengguang, a National Distinguished Young Scholar, IEEE/CAA Fellow, and Researcher of the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Professor Noriyasu Homma of Tohoku University, Japan. They shared their insights on cutting-edge research and application challenges in areas such as brain-computer interfaces and smart healthcare.
Professor Liu Shiguang from Tianjin University’s College of Intelligence and Computing, and Professor Wang Yi from the University of Bedfordshire in the UK, were among the experts who shared insights and engaged in dialogue on topics such as “Intelligent Image Color Transfer” and “Challenges Toward the Industry 5.0 Paradigm”. They delved into cutting-edge ideas, core technologies, and industrial trends within the field of artificial intelligence.
The conference also released the White Paper on Next-Generation Intelligent & Connected Vehicle Technology, which analyzes and forecasts the latest development trends and technological breakthroughs in the field of intelligent & connected vehicles. Professor Liu Fuqiang from Tongji University and Professor Zhou Yi from Henan University interpreted the white paper in light of emerging technologies like “Artificial Intelligence+” and the “Low-Altitude Economy”.
Following the conference, attendees toured the Longzihu New Energy Laboratory, where they collectively explored collaborative innovation cases of “Artificial Intelligence + Energy” in industry, education, research and application.
This conference is dedicated to constructing an international cooperation platform for the development of artificial intelligence industry in Henan Province, further advancing academic exchanges and collaborative innovation among industry, education and research, and bolstering the cooperative development and innovative application of cutting-edge artificial intelligence technologies.
