Prof. Huang Jin, President of China Society of Private International Law and a distinguished member of the Academy of Rule of Law at China University of Political Science and Law (CUPL), alongside Prof. Huo Zhengxin from the School of International Law at CUPL, were honored to attend the Hague Conference on Private International Law (HCCH) Asia Pacific Week 2023 and the International Forum commemorating the 130th anniversary of HCCH. The prestigious event saw the presence of prominent figures, including John Lee, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), Hua Chunying, Assistant Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China, Paul Lam, Secretary for Justice of HKSAR, and Dr. Christophe Bernasconi, Secretary-General of the HCCH, all of whom delivered impactful speeches.

HCCH stands as the world's foremost intergovernmental organization dedicated to the realm of private international law. Since its inception in the Netherlands in 1893, it has been steadfastly committed to the harmonization of regulations within the sphere of private international law. This year's HCCH Asia Pacific Week 2023, jointly organized by the Permanent Bureau of HCCH, the Department of Justice of HKSAR, and the Faculty of Law at the University of Hong Kong, revolves around the theme "Access to Justice and Sustainable Development: The Impact of the HCCH in an Interconnected World." The conference witnessed the participation of esteemed delegates from the HCCH, the International Chamber of Commerce, the Asian-African Legal Consultative Organization, and over 200 representatives hailing from more than 30 countries across the globe.

On the morning of September 11, Prof. Huang Jin delivered a keynote speech on the theme “The Role of Private International Law in the 21st Century”. Subsequently, on the afternoon of September 12, Prof. Huo Zhengxin presented a speech addressing the theme “Revision of Foreign-related Provisions in China’s Civil Law and Its Implications for the Judgments Convention.” The inclusion of Prof. Huang and Prof. Huo, along with their insightful keynote speeches, has significantly bolstered CUPL's standing within the field of private international law on an international scale.
