The 10-year Commemoration of the Draft Civil Code & Symposium on the Future of the Civil Code of People's Republic of China was held on Xueyuanlu campuson the morning of 19 Jan, 2013. 

The College of Comparative Law and the editorial office of Journal of CUPL organized this event.

President of CUPL Huang Jin, Yao Hong from Civil Law Office of Legislative Affairs Commission, Committee of People's Congress, Jiang Ping and other law expert representatives attended the meeting. 

Huang noted the academic value and significance of the symposium to the launch of the Civil Code of China.

Yao reviewed the deliberation progress of the draft and the history of China's civil law legislation and emphasized that the continuous improvement on Civil Code of China has never stagnated. Yao encouraged the law expert representatives attended the meeting to propose constructive suggestion in future law making decisions.

Whilst the experts attended the meeting made more discussions and analysis in deep, Mr. LIU Jingwei, Dean of Department of Research, CUPL, addressed the motivations and importance of such an event. Vice Editor in Chief of Journal of CUPL, Prof. Cao Deming gave the closing speech.
