Supervised by A/Prof. Che Hu, two year 2022 entering students of the College Hong Weibo as the team leader and Pan Di as the member won the Grand Prize of the Extracurricular Researches and Tech Products Contest for College Students in Beijing (known as the Challenge Cup) with their academic and technological work, the Scheme Based on the Village-Scale Publicity in the Regional Culture and the Village-Level Brand Building of Beijing Suburbs: An Example of Sidu River Village, on 16 May, 2023.

The contest was jointly held by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, the Beijing Association for Science and Technology and the Beijing Federation of University Societies. According to the organisers, this year's village revitalisation special competition of the Challenge Cup adopted 'unveiled list' mode, focusing on the concept of 'green development' to guide the needs for the construction of beautiful countryside and to solve the problems of science and technology and rural revitalisation and development in Beijing's issues related with agriculture, farmer and rural area.

A total of nine entries from Mentougou District, Huairou District, Pinggu District and Tongzhou were collected for the competition, attracting 659 teams from 56 universities. After 4 months of preparation and competition, 34 Grand Prize and 8 Challengers were selected.

The award-winning fully demonstrated the college students' solid foundation of their course knowledge, sound cross-disciplinary ability and high enthusiasm for academic innovation. The College would continue to summarise the work experience in students' scientific and technological innovation, to further improve the work mechanism of students' innovation and entrepreneurship, to increase support for teachers and students' scientific and technological innovation, and to create a stronger atmosphere of innovation and entrepreneurship.
