The delegation of the government of Fangzi District of Weifang City of Shandong Province, including the Governor of the District Zhang Longjiang, Director of District Government Office Lihui, Director of the District Science and Technology Bureau Qiao Shijie, Director of the District General Administration and Law Enforcement Bureau Liu Xianxun and Director of the District Investment Cooperation Centre Li Gang visited the College on the morning of 29 April, 2021.
Dean of the College Xie Zhiyong received the dignitaries on Xuyuanlu Campus. Deputy Dean Liu Chengwei and Director of the Administrative Office Liu Ming participated in the exchange meeting. The meeting was moderated by Liu Chengwei.
On behalf of the college, Xie Zhiyong first extended a warm welcome to Governor Zhang Longjiang and the delegation, and introduced the participants of the college. He then gave a detailed account of the development history, faculty strength, discipline development and talent cultivation of the college, and pointing out that the College is the most open law school at the University and it has established friendly and cooperative relations with a number of well-known foreign universities. Xie said that the development of the college’s comparative law discipline is in a leading position domestically and the teaching faculty and alumni resources are abundant. He also explained that there will be broad cooperation room between Fangzi District and the College in the future.
Liu Chengwei and Liu Ming respectively made a supplementary introduction to the evolution of the teaching institutions of the college and background of the Institute of the Sino-German Law of the College.
Zhang Longjiang first introduced the participants of Fangzi District, and explained the development of the District in detail. He explained the development of Weifang and Fangzi from the perspectives of historical origin, opening up to the outside world, industry and transportation, culture features and the business environment, as well as the status quo and future planning.
Zhang noted that the Fangzi District has a long history and was opened early so that it has a good industrial structure and balanced development of various industries. He said that the District government attaches great importance to cooperative relations with universities and scientific research institutions, and that in recent years it has welcomed a large number of high-tech enterprises, industrial parks and research institutes. He expressed that the District is in line with the comparative law research and teaching work carried out by the College in actively absorbing outstanding and advanced foreign experience, and he hoped to have in-depth exchanges with the University in industry-university co-operation, talent introduction and cadre training in the future.
Finally, Xie Zhiyong and Zhang Longjiang jointly expressed the friendly vision of deepening cooperation between the two sides, and affirmed that the two sides could fully exchange views, have in-depth discussions and reach a preliminary consensus at the meeting.
