Recently, the Association of Fundamental Computing Education in Chinese Universities released the Fundamental Computer Teaching Development Index for Regular Institutions of Higher Education in China (hereinafter referred to as the Index) for the first time. ZZULI ranks 57th in the overall list of the Fundamental Computer Teaching Development Index for Regular Institutions of Higher Education in China and 13th in the list of Fundamental Computer Teaching Development Index of Local Undergraduate Universities in China. Furthermore, ZZULI takes the first place in both lists among the universities in Henan Province.

The data collection of the Index released this time, which started from 1989, mainly studies the data on the awards and approved projects related to fundamental computer teaching in colleges and universities at the national level. The data are mainly sourced from the raw data (amounting to more than 400,000 records) of Teaching Development Index for Teachers of Regular Institutions of Higher Education in China release by the China Association of Higher Education. The data related to the fundamental computer teaching are extracted and analyzed. The Index consists of eight primary indexes, 33 secondary indexes, and 64 tertiary indexes, encompassing teams of teachers, education reform projects, curriculum projects, textbook projects, teaching papers, teaching achievement awards, teaching competitions and teaching organizations, and general computer competitions. As to the release form of the Index, 11 index lists have taken shape based on the types of disciplines and resource acquisitions developed by a university, along with the development timeline.

ZZULI's fundamental computer education dates back to 1986. Through continuous construction and development, we have achieved outstanding results, which are embodied in six provincial-level high-quality courses, one provincial-level first-class undergraduate course, one provincial-level ideological and political model course, and one provincial-level teaching team. Additionally, we have published eight textbooks planned at or above the provincial level, including three textbooks planned at the national level. The release of the Index stands for the affirmation and spur to ZZULI's fundamental computer education. The fundamental teaching team at ZZULI's Engineering Training Center will take this opportunity to constantly innovate in inheritance and continuously carry out the reform and development of fundamental computer education and teaching, standing poised to play an exemplary and leading role in the fundamental computer education and teaching in Henan Province and even in the whole country.
