YNU hosts 2024 Scholarship Awards Ceremony

The 2024 Scholarship Awards Ceremony of Yunnan University (YNU) was held on Dec 25 at the Chenggong Campus Student Auditorium. It honored outstanding student groups and individuals for their achievements throughout the year.

In his speech, Zhou Xuebin, secretary of the CPC Yunnan University Committee, encouraged all students to strive to become well-rounded individuals excelling in moral character, intellect, physical fitness, aesthetic appreciation, and practical skills.

Yunnan University students demonstrated excellence in various domains this year, including academic studies, moral conduct, social practice, cultural and sports competitions, innovation and entrepreneurship, and volunteer services.

Throughout the year, 476 students were awarded the National Scholarship, 232 received the Yunnan Provincial Government Scholarship, and 22 were honored with the University Student of the Year Award or nomination.

Additionally, 4,958 students received the Outstanding Undergraduate Student Scholarship, 14,992 were granted the Graduate Student Academic Scholarship, and 97 classes were recognized as Outstanding Class Groups.

Furthermore, 440 students received corporate-sponsored scholarships, such as the Fudian Bank Scholarship and the Taetea Excellent Scholarship of International Students.

During the ceremony, award recipients shared their inspiring stories, including Zhang Bojie, a master's student from the School of Law; Liu Qianqian, a doctoral student from the School of Life Sciences; Sixanonh Viradeth, a doctoral student from the Institute of International Relations; and Liang Ni, an undergraduate from the School of Government.

The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt rendition of the Yunnan University Anthem.
