On January 17, 2024, the SamSU delegation led by Khushvaktov Hakim, vice-rector for scientific works and innovations of Samarkand State University visited XJTU. Xi Guang, Vice President of XJTU, met with them. Wang Hua and Feng Guangyi, two professors from SFS attended the meeting.
On the morning of January 18, representatives from the Center for Asia-Europe Studies (CAES) of Xi’an Jiaotong University (XJTU) and delegates from Samarkand State University (SamSU) held a cooperative exchange event at School of Foreign Studies (SFS). The meeting was presided over by Wang Hua, vice dean of SFS, with the presence of Feng Guangyi, director of SFS Postgraduate English Teaching Center, Ye Lin, director of SFS's Russian Department, and other teachers and postgraduates from SFS.
Professor Khushvaktov Hakim, vice-rector of SamSU, Rajabov Toshpulot Fayzulloevich, director of the Institute of Agrobiotechnologies and Food Safety, and Djurakulov Shoxrux Davronovich, director of the Institute of Human Resources and Neighborhood Development Management, gave lectures on their research fields and achievements respectively, and introduced the establishment of the SamSU China Center and SamSU’s development, institutions and education.
Professor Wang Hua introduced the research fields of the members of both parties and expressed his expectation about taking the establishment of SamSU China Center as an opportunity to promote the development of think tanks. Both parties discussed the details in cooperation, joint research and academic exchanges, covering international trade, global governance, ecosystem governance, international relations in the Asia-Pacific region, and Central Asian history.
SamSU delegates shared their opinions on several key research topics in international relations and discussed with SFS participants. They also invited teachers and researchers from SFS to visit SamSU and expressed that they are looking forward to the comprehensive, multi-field, and in-depth cooperation between the two universities in talent training, academic exchange, scientific research, and faculty-student visits, etc. Both parties reached a consensus on strengthening the ability to commercialize research results, building collaborative mechanism for tackling key issues, and deepening interdisciplinary research, which lays the foundation for future in-depth cooperation, including fighting poverty and education cooperation.
