On Jun. 11th, 2013, full-day tutorials on in situ studies through Environmental TEM and nano-mechanics measurement and application were held by CAMP-Nano in the room 210 and 205 of MSE building, respectively.
The ETEM tutorial hosted by Prof. Evan Ma, the director of CAMP-Nano, aimed at providing a broad overview of the fundamental background, unfamiliar concepts and state-of-the-art technologies of environmental transmission electron microscopy (ETEM). Specifically, the tremendous progress made through ETEM during recent few years will be emphasized in different fields, such as heterogeneous catalysis, nanocrystal nucleation and growth, metal oxidation kinetics, and other gas/liquid-solid interactions. Invited speakers included Prof. Jimmy Liu (Arizona State University), Prof. Judith C. Yang (University of Pittsburgh), Dr. Xiaofeng Zhang (Hitachi High Technologies American) and Dr. Haimei Zheng (Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory).

Besides ETEM tutorial, the tutorial on Nanomechanics held at the same time aimed at providing an opportunity to communicate within functions, application and skills of nano-mechanics testing equipment related to recent achievements of nano-mechanics. Speakers included Prof. Zhiwei Shan, the Executive Director of CAMP-Nano, Mr. Mockenhaupt, Asia Pacific Sales Manager of Hysitron High Technologies American, Dr. Shuangxi Song, an engineer of Hysitron, Shanlin Zhou, a technical stuff of CAMP-Nano, as well as some students of CAMP-Nano.
