Established in 2008, the School of Law strives to be a research-oriented international school with high-quality students. As one of the most important legal personnel training bases in China, the School provides national first-class undergraduate programs, master's programs, and doctoral programs in law.
It currently employs more than 60 teachers specializing in global legal governance and the reconstruction of dispute settlement mechanisms; the comparison and integration of legal policies implemented by countries involved in the Belt and Road Initiative; the coordination of legislation and intra-Party regulations related to the governance and administration of state affairs; the innovation-driven development and legal protection of intellectual property rights; the legal regulation of the Internet and information security; and other international academic frontiers and major national strategic needs.
The School founded and edits the international academic journal The Chinese Journal of Comparative Law. It has published hundreds of works at authoritative publishing houses such as Oxford University Press and hundreds of papers in professional journals such as the American Journal of Comparative Law and Social Sciences in China, and undertaken several international scientific research projects and major national-level projects.
It has been awarded dozens of important scientific research awards such as the first prize awarded by the Ministry of Education. In 2018, it was rated as a "Five-Star School of Law" by London-based higher education analysts QS Quacquarelli Symonds.
