2012年11月18日至23日，王秋旺教授携课题组成员杜雪平博士生和严敏博士生赴新西兰奥克兰参加了2012年的ISTP-23国际会议，此次会议由奥克兰大学（The University of Auckland）承办。会议期间，宣读了三篇会议论文，与国际同行取得了广泛深入的交流。
ISTP会议每年举行一次，王秋旺教授是本次ISTP-23会议的组委会成员，并承担了两个分会场的主席、主持了会议。本次会议投稿近200篇，大会报告有近150多人次，其他的为张贴论文。
