Faculty members (Prof. Feng Xu, Prof. Xiaohui Zhang, Dr. Yufei Ma and Dr. Qingzhen Yang) and a Ph.D candidate (Yuan Ji) in Biomedical Engineering and Biomechanics Center (BEBC), Xi’an Jiaotong University participated in the 2017 International Conference on Biofabrication that was held in Beijing, China on 15-18 October, 2017. The objective of this conference was to provide a broad communication venue for multi-disciplinary scientists, researchers, industrial and medical sectors to exchange and disseminate the recent scientific discoveries, research, development and emerging applications in the field of Biofabrication, to facilitate international collaboration, and to explore new directions in research and development on Biofabrication.

Prof. Feng Xu was invited as a session chair in “Biofabrication of Cell/Tissue/Organ” and gave a talk in this session. Dr. Yufei Ma, Dr. Qingzhen Yang and Yuan Ji gave oral presentations titled “Bioprinting-assistant Extracellular Matrix Composition Optimization for Periodontal Treatments”, “Fabrication of Microscale Hydrogels by Wetting Behavior” and “Improve Resolution and Fidelity of Droplet-Based Bioprinting by Upward Ejection”, respectively. Especially, Dr. Yufei Ma was awarded the Travel awards provided by the International Society of Biofabrication (total awardees: 6, Chinese awardees: 2). We are looking forward to more high impact works from BEBC!
