Dr. Xinzhao Tong joined the Department of Biological Science of XJTLU in 2022. She received her Ph.D. from the City University of Hong Kong in 2019. After that, she continued her postdoctoral research also at the City University of Hong Kong. Over the past seven years, her focus has centered on exploring microbiomes within built environments and humans, delving into the intricate microbial interactions between occupants and indoor space, and deciphering the mechanisms underlying the transmission of antibiotic-resistance genes. Currently, her curiosity lies in investigating the diversity and functions of microbial communities within built environments and those associated with humans. Notably, she is interested in studying pathogenic microorganisms distribution and transmission routes in public indoor environments and clinical settings. Additionally, she directs her attention to understanding the functional role of microbiomes and their metabolites in individuals diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Dr. Tongs research necessitates a comprehensive grasp of various disciplines, including biology, ecology, microbiology, biological statistics, and bioinformatics. A diverse toolkit of bioinformatic resources, statistical techniques, and machine-learning methodologies may be employed in the data analysis of her research.Dr. Tong is now accepting self-funded Ph.D. students. Highly motivated students with backgrounds in biological sciences, bioinformatics, biological engineering, environmental sciences, or biostatistics who find resonance with Dr. Tongs research are encouraged to apply. Interested individuals can submit their CVs to Xinzhao.Tong@xjtlu.edu.cn.
Tong@xjtlu.edu.cn)咨询。
