Personal profile

Personal profile

Dr. Jiaqi Wang received his bachelors degree from Jiangsu University in 2015, and masters and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering and computational materials science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, in 2018 and 2020, respectively. He has been a research assistant professor at Westlake University since September of 2020 and now an assistant professor in Wisdom Lake Academy of Pharmacy, Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. He has received the Yates Dissertation Fellowship, Graduate Professional Promise, and Outstanding MABE graduate student award from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Wangs research lies at the intersection of computational materials science (i.e., molecular dynamics, ab initio calculations) and machine learning (as well as deep learning) to accelerate the design of biological materials such as peptides and proteins for various applications (e.g., hydrogels, drugs, vaccines, and semiconductors). He has published in leading journals such as Nature Communications, Advanced Science, Briefings in Bioinformatics, Advanced theory and Simulations, etc., as first or co-first author.
